Incomplete Add/Remove in Win 2000

In Windows 2000, lots of Windows components are missing from the Add/Remove Windows Componets tab of the Add/Remove Program applet in Control Panel.  For example, you cannont uninstall Pinball or accessibility functions. To restore the ability to uninstall these programs, open the file c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf in WordPad or your wordprocessor and delete every occurence of the term HIDE.

Change Program installation defaults

In the registry change: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion CommonFilesDir ProgramFilesDir To the desired location
